STAFF

Playcare currently has 13 members of staff, these are made up of a manager, 2 coordinators and 10 play workers, additional to this we have a core of bank staff that are on hand to support sessions. All of our staff hold a variety of child are and play worker qualifications, not to mention their vast experience of working with and nurturing children through play opportunities and experiences.

ROTATION OF STAFF

Many of you may have noticed that the staff have moved around both on infants site and over at juniors. Staff work on both site which is valuable so that the children in our care form relationships with all members of staff and also so that our staff can share their wide array of skills and experience across all age groups.

STUDENTS

Here at scheme we pride ourselves in delivering quality childcare, this had been recognised by many training companies, it is through this that we are now offering training placements to students. Our students are mentored on site and benefit from the experience and skills of our staff. We currently have a long term student with us, who has already fitted in well as part of the team.

VOLUNTEERS

Here at scheme we welcome volunteer placements, we are able to offer experience and the teaching of skills required to work within the childcare sector. All volunteers are supervised by a dedicated member of staff and will benifit from their extensive knowledge and experience.

TRAINING

Our staff regularly access training to improve their knowledge and skill set, this is reviewed on a regular basis through out the year. All staff over both sites are paediatric first aid trained and hold food hygiene certificates. Some of our training courses accessed include; food hygiene, first aid, autism awareness, Early Years Foundation Stage briefings, health and safety, extended play opportunities, Child Protection, Safeguarding and positive interventions. As a scheme we access training offered by both Birmingham City Council and private providers.

We currently link with MENCAP; play4parks; Kings Heath Community Centre on Heathfield Road where our junior site is situated; Birmingham Playcare Network and Birmingham City Council
